Basically, don't send it at weekends or on a Monday. Other than that we think there are pluses and minuses for the other four days.
If you want to send out just information based mails then hitting the inbox on Tuesday or Wednesday is not a bad time. Thursday and Friday are pretty good for this too (particularly Friday).
If you want to sell something make sure you get to the inbox on a Thursday or Friday. These days are far better for getting someone to part with money!
Lastly, do send mails during the day so the mail can make an entrance by itself i.e. don't let your great e-mail campaign sit in someone's morning inbox along with ten other mails they received the night before!
